Professor David McClelland is awarded a prestigious medal by the Australian Academy of Science, the Thomas Ranken Lyle Medal. David received this recognition for his life-long contributions in the advancement of gravitational wave research and his key role in leading the Australian gravitational wave community in the international LIGO project and the first detection of gravitational waves in 2015.
